Yes. Most covers are made to the measurements and shape of the individual window well so the finished cover can provide a cleaner, more secure fit than many generic off-the-shelf covers.

We make custom Atrium (Dome) and sloped egress covers. The raised Atrium style provides added clearance for outward-opening casement windows. Its hinged cover is manually pushed open from inside after the window is opened; it does not open automatically or require a separate escape hatch. A sloped cover is a lower-profile option when full dome clearance is not needed. Each design is measured around the window swing and well dimensions. Egress compliance depends on the complete window and well installation and local requirements, so each project should be assessed individually. See our egress cover options.

Three important measurements are the overall width of the window well, the projection from the foundation wall to the outside edge, and the height from the bottom to the top edge of the well. Additional measurements or photos may be required depending on the shape and surrounding conditions.

Measure A, the width where the well meets the foundation wall; B, the projection from the wall to the outside edge; and C, the height from the bottom to the top edge of the well. Take measurements at the widest and highest points and send photos showing the full well and surrounding wall area.

Window wells vary considerably in size, shape and installation conditions. A cover made around the actual opening can reduce large gaps and provide a cleaner, more finished appearance.

Yes. Phone photos are very useful. Try to include one photo showing the full window well, one from above and additional close-ups of unusual corners, siding, brick, stonework or obstructions.

We are developing a future range of quick-ship standard sizes, but those dimensions have not been finalized yet. Custom covers are currently the main option.
